His research interest is devoted to peptide synthesis for self-assembled cyclic peptides, membrane transporters, pattern recognition sensing systems and polymers for nucleotide delivery. When not in the lab Juan enjoys watching sports and supporting Real Madrid and Celta de Vigo.

F.P.I. Ph.D. student (3rd year). Marisa’s research interests are focused in the evaluation the topological control of peptides for membrane transport of nucleic acids and proteins. In her spare time Marisa likes playing the piano and to go to the cinema.

Postdoctoral associate. Irene has recently a Ph.D. in virology at the USC.  Irene will help us with the cell biology characterization. She will also try to develop new methods to characterize endosomal escape and protein function. Postdoctoral associate. Jose received a PhD at University of Seville-CSIC in 2008 (Prof. Javier Rojo). He performed post-doc in the University  of Milan as a Curie fellow (Prof. Bernardi, 2009-2012). In 2013, he joined the Glycosystems Laboratory at Seville as a JAE-Doc researcher. PhD student (2nd year). Héctor research is focused in intracellular delivery of different cargos using supramolecular architectures and nanoparticles platforms. Héctor has spent one year of Erasmus in Check Republic and in his spare time Héctor likes traveling to different countries and he enjoys practicing several sports and meeting with friends.

PhD student (1st year). Iván have just finished his chemistry degree and now he is a master’s student of organic chemistry. His research interest is focused on solid phase synthesis of peptides for protein cellu targeting and cytosol delivery. In his free time, he plays basketball and he enjoys watching magic and fantasy films.

Geert will soon defend his PhD at Leiden University. He combines experience in coiled coil peptides, drug delivery and supramolecular chemistry, and here he will design and study peptide based drug delivery systems. Richard will be soon defending his Ph.D. in  Bristol University. His scientific interests are emergence, synthetic cellularity and prebiotic chemistry. Giulia obtained the BSc and MSc Degrees in Biotechnology from the University of Milan – Bicocca (2015), She then spend one year in Spain and one year in Finland working in molecular biology to expand her academic formation. She joined the Montenegro Group in 2017 for her Ph.D. in novel systems for the delivery of functional proteins. Giulia has always loved classical ballet and she also enjoys photography.

Ghibom Bhak

Postdoctoral associate. Ghibom received his PhD (2012) at Seoul National University (Paik Group). He was a postdoc (2012-2016) at the same group and at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor (Marsh Group, 2016-2017). His research interests cover the fields of peptide/protein-based nanomaterials science and applications. Ghibom enjoys taking a walk and having a tea for relaxation.

Postdoctoral associate. Nacho received his PhD from the University of Birmingham in 2017 (Dr. Francisco Fernández-Trillo). He then joined the University of Melbourne as a Postdoc (Prof. Greg Qiao, 2017-18). His research focuses on the application of polymers and peptides, through self-assembly and nanotechnology, as biomedical tools. He enjoys playing the bass and chess.
